Zippers Be Thankful: Vail’s Only 6-Course Zip Line Adventure Open Through November 30th

As our thoughts turn to Thanksgiving celebrations with family and friends, we know the 2016 Zip Season is coming to a close - until next year! Zip Adventures will be open through November 30 and especially on Thanksgiving Day – we’ll be serving up our famous, six-course feast of zip line adrenaline. Best of all zip lining on turkey day will lift your spirits without adding a single calorie!

What better way to entertain visiting family and friends than with a group activity that brings you closer together. The bonding starts when your group straps into our Austrian-made, 6-wheel-drive all-terrain vehicle for a short trek over the rocky landscape to historic Alkali Creek Canyon. Want to know who made history in the canyon? Just ask your guide. You’ll get the local folklore and insider tips for fun-loving fools who want to zip upside down.

Keep in mind that our zip line courses are progressive, starting with the shortest and least intimidating course at 250 feet in length to the longest at 1,000 feet. The best part of doing this together is cheering each other on. Ages 2 to 92 have enjoyed the thrill of soaring 200 feet above the canyon, all with a little encouragement from their friends, family and trusted guides. By the way, you’ll be glad to know our safety record, equipment and training rank among the best in the industry.

Now we’re not saying there aren’t other things to do in the Vail Valley during the Thanksgiving holidays.  Beaver Creek is hosting their annual World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition on Wednesday, November 23rd.  Public judging (that means you and your friends!) starts at 2:00 pm. So if you want to work up a monster cookie appetite, sign up for our 9:00 zip line tour. You’ll be back at the “Beav” in plenty of time to cast your vote for your favorite cookie.

No matter what you plan to do during the holidays, it’s almost always possible to find a tour time that fits in with the rest of your plans. Tour times for the month of November are at 9:00, 12:00 and 3:00. You’ll want to arrive at Zip Adventures 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour. Zip Adventures is located 15 miles west of Vail at the 4 Eagle Ranch in Wolcott, so you’ll need about 20 minutes to get there. Each tour lasts 2.5 hours, including your safety briefing.

So with a little planning, you can give your group an unforgettable celebration filled with high-flying fun and laughter. You’ll want to bring plenty of warm clothing, but dress in layers so that you can adjust for full sun and shade. Sturdy shoes are important, as there is a small amount of hiking over rocky terrain to get from one course to the other.

Group tours are limited to 12 people, but larger groups can be accommodated with advance notice. So what are you waiting for? Click here to book your adventure and find out first hand why Travel + Leisure named us one of the “World’s Coolest Zip Lines.”
