Vail Beaver Creek Restaurant Week
It used to be that Vail restaurants would close during the fall and spring shoulder seasons. Vail and Beaver Creek have become such bustling 4-season resorts that fall is now a time to celebrate our wonderful local restaurants. Vail restaurant week is a 10-day culinary celebration, September 27-October 6 2013, that honors the diverse and delicious restaurants that populate the Vail and Beaver reek villages. 5th Annual Hike, Wine & Dine
Culinary and climbing come together for a great local cause on Sunday September 22 in Beaver Creek. The 5th annual Hike, Wine & Dine brings local and philanthropic individuals together for a day of fun family hiking and food to raise money for Jack’s Place, the cancer caring home partner of our regional Shaw Cancer Treatment center in Edwards, CO. Enjoy a 4-5 mile hike that meanders through the beautiful fall foliage of Beaver Creek mountain trails, stopping along the way at multiple gourmet food stations from local restaurants for sipping and tasting. Man of the Cliff
For a different taste of real rustic Colorado, you won’t want to miss the annual Man of the Cliff event in Redcliff, CO on September 28-29. This event honors the rustic charm, and toughness, of real Colorado locals as they compete in several events that challenge their mountain survival skills! The event takes place in Redcliff, an historic roadside village nestled at the top of Battle Mountain Pass just a short, scenic drive from Vail and Beaver Creek. It’s a rugged, beautiful place to watch as tough competitors match up in such burly events as axe throwing, speed chopping, caber toss, keg toss, archery, hammer throw, and two man cross cut. Flannel shirts are the required uniform, and beer and whiskey the required drinks at this 2-day Colorado mountain man festival. 

Vail Farmers Market
Thanks to beautiful fall conditions and a successful Colorado harvest season, the Sunday Vail Farmer’s Market & Art Show isextending its season for 2 extra weekends through October 2. This fabulous food and art festival brings the best Colorado crafts together with delectable sweet and savory samplings into what has become the most successful farmer’s market in Colorado. Enjoy the sounds of jazz on the streets in Vail as you peruse for local wares and the freshest produce from Colorado’s farms. A multitude of local eateries have tents providing creative, portable goodies for all ages to nosh on while strolling the market.
