Still time to Zip Line in 2014, Events This Winter - Beaver Creek

The extended Indian Summer during October and November in the Vail Valley has been our ally at Zip Adventures as we wrap the 2014 season.  The warm blue sky days have brought stunningly breathtaking opportunities for our guests to continue to enjoy a day at Zip Adventures in the Wolcott Valley. What we LOVE about zip lining, is you can do it in your puffy jacket and gloves, so get your group together, make a reservation and head west on I-70 from Vail, Beaver Creek, Avon and Edwards for this expedition like none other in the Rocky Mountains!

Beaver Creek hosts the 33rd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony November 28, one of Vail's hallmark events. The 2014 – 2015 ski season is here!  Summit County has once again led the way for Opening Day.  Vail’s Opening Day is Friday, November 21st, Vail Resorts snow making crew has been busy making snow on Born Free in Lionshead.  After a few laps on Chair 8 to test out your ski legs for this season, head over to après ski at Garfinkel’s deck and bar which will be a buzz with liveliness of skiers and snowboarders coming off the mountain swapping Opening Day stories. Beaver Creek Opening Day is Wednesday, November 26th with the World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition.  Five finalists will bake 1,000 cookies each to be tasted and voted on by skiers and snowboarders of all ages.  The Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition is always a favorite event for locals and guests to kick off the season. A local’s tip for this event is to order up a hot cocoa or latte at Rimini to dunk your chocolate chip cookie samples.  Mmmmmm, another treat from Rimini which is worth every spoonful, is their gelato.  The dozen plus flavors of gelato will leave you mesmerized as to which flavor to start indulging in.

Beaver Creek will host the 33rd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Friday, November 28th at 5:00 p.m. in Beaver Creek Village.  The holiday kickoff will continue with carolers, fireworks, a figure skating show and a visit from the man in Red, SANTA!  The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor-Gulch Tree Lighting Ceremony will have a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus on Saturday, November 29th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Carolers, hot cocoa, roasted marshmallows around the fire pit will add to holiday memories. Both of these events are so much fun for children and adults!

Zipline in Vail through November 30, then enjoy Beaver Creek events such as the FIS World Cup races. The weekend of December 5th – 7th, Beaver Creek will be the focus of Men’s FIS Ski Races, the only stop in the USA before the 2015 World Alpine Ski Championships in Beaver Creek. The fastest men in the world will compete in the Downhill, Super G and the more technical race, Giant Slalom. Preview the men’s racers who will be competing in the February Championships when our little Valley truly becomes the center of attention around the world. Beaver Creek Village will be partying after races with bar concessions, a skiwear fashion show, free ice skating and if we’re lucky, some autograph signing from the ski teams.

Thanksgiving is fast approaching, why not book a Zip Adventure for your Thanksgiving guests?  Zip Adventures is open until November 30, 2014.   Another idea, is to ski in the morning, whether at Vail, Beaver Creek or Aspen, then head to Zip Adventures in Wolcott, off of I-70 and zip line in the warmer afternoon temperatures.  Fly down the ski slopes and then fly through the Alkalai Creek Canyon before we close for the season. We hope to see you at Zip Adventures in the next few weeks!
Thank you for a high flying 2014 Zip Adventures Season!  See you in 2015!
