Last Chance for a Zip of Adventure

Fall is a beautiful time to get outdoors in the Vail Valley, but come October and November, the trails around Vail are often too soggy to hike or ride and still not ready for skiing. What do fun-loving families and adrenalin junkies do at a time like this? They bee-line it over to Zip Adventures of Vail, named one of the Top Ten zip lining experiences in the world.

Don’t let the name fool you: Zip Adventures is located 15 miles west of Vail at the historic 4 Eagle Ranch in Wolcott. Here the days are longer, the temperatures warmer, and the ground is drier than our friends up valley. Zip Adventures is open for fun and games until December 1, when we hang up our harnesses and turn to snow sports.

Now’s the time to get your kicks on the only zip adventure in the area with six progressive lines ranging from 250 to 1000 feet in length. You’ll soar up to 200 feet above the rugged beauty of Alkali Creek Canyon, gaining confidence with each new line and handy tips and tricks from our friendly guides.

You’ll see how the color rises in your cheeks and your grin spreads from ear to ear. You’ll get just the right amount of walking between zip lines to take in the panoramic views and plan your moves for the next thrilling ride. There’s plenty of time to muster up your courage to take the Canyon Plunge, our new free fall that drops you 65 feet off a cliff’s edge for a 20 mile-an-hour head rush that comes to a smooth and comfortable stop.

But fear not:  Zip Adventures has the highest safety rating and the best zip line equipment in the industry. We are the only zip line company in Colorado to use super sturdy Yates Rigging Harnesses with full body padding for safe, upside down zip lining. Our proprietary pulley system and aircraft cables made of braided galvanized steel set the standard for safety and exceptional stability.

Fun for kids ages 2 to 92, you’ll see nervous jitters morph into giggles and glee, followed by a hearty “let’s do that again!” Your 2.5-hour tour will have you planning your next trip back before our six-wheel Austrian Pinzgauer drops you back at the ranch. You may be all tuckered out, but happy and satisfied.
